The Academy specializes in providing training in the folk and tribal dances of India with special emphasis on the tribal and folk dances of Andhra Pradesh.

The Academy also has training in the folk and tribal costume designing, stage craft, makeup for folk and tribal dances, folk songs and traditional folk instruments. Emphasis is laid in preserving the native and flavor of every art being taught at the Academy.
